The best ride of our Season has been moved from July 10th to the following Thursday, July 17th. Note: we meet at Hardees at 5:30PM and then transport our bikes up to The Cloverdale Park (a bit North of Nashwauk) where we park and begin our ride. We ride west to the Balsam Lake store then south on the Scenic Hwy and then return east to Hwy 8 and just a bit further back to Cloverdale. The story behind the name of this ride comes from an exceptional year when a TV film crew from Duluth came up for our ride and filmed a segment for a local TV program called "Up North".

On Wednesday, May 21st Cycle Mesabi celebrated it's 25 year with a "Kickoff Dinner" at Sammy's Pizza. Many thanks to all that attended and made this event a success. Following dinner Doug Schmitz of the Regional Rail Authority presented the progress on the Mesabi Trail over the past season and the scheduled segments for the 2014 construction season. To cap off the evening nearly 40 door prizes provided by Cal and Jill of "Bikes on Howard", "The Mesabi Trail" group and "Cycle Mesabi" members were drawn for. Congratulations to Cheryl & Larry on winning the Grand Prize of a 'Trip for Two'! Please take the opportunity to say "Thank You!" to our supporters.
Now let's hope that the weather changes to allow us to get some bike riding in!!!
